Yellow garden beds

Here is one of my gardens beds that look so pretty right now. I LOVE yellow flowers. Actually my front gardens are all color themed. Basically yellow with red and white touches for contrast.

BB reminder

beyond pet peeve

Now this is gross to me. I never understood why in excitement people stick their tongues out and think it cool. They also shake their head back and forth to make it waggle....sick!!! It was a strange fascination with my grandson and he also wanted to have his picture taken that way. I have no idea why this is offensive to me.  It just is...ewwwwwwwww

Gray hair update

One more hair cut and I thinkt he lastof the old brown dye job will be gone. But I have gotten to like it and no more messy dyes. I think the insert pic show the gray better. No idea why the difference in color as no camera setting changed and all I did was run to click the button again for another pic.

garden bed update

Here are pics of the newly growing front bed. I have since added some cute frog paving stones and will show them in the next update pic. It is starting to fill out and in a few years will be as overgrown as the rest...lol.

Michigan Blooming cactus

Last year when I went to a plant exchange I came home with a cactus that was Michigan hardy. I never new they existed. This year I got another one that was even bigger. Guess what?. My one last year is still small but this new one bloomed!!! Pretty yellow flowers. One has opened already and 2 more will soon.

In the spring the plants look terrible. Like they are rotted and winter killed. But they do recover and wow...this one is gorgeous with new shoots everywhere.

DId I learn wrong?

There is a favorite blog I read several times a week and isa very popular one called "Dooce".
She posted a pic of her girls this morning and I wondered at it for a long time. When did it become ok to put patterns together? Or did I learn wrongly. In my day..these outfits were not ok. I guess anything goes nowadays huh?

Heartache big time

Sorry for not posting lately but I have been transferring pictures from floppies to my hard drive and I get lost looking at them. I found some that were plain heartbreaking. The ones I am posting today are of me and my son in May of 2000. I took a trip and spent a week with him and we went to Mexico. He lived in Lake Havasu, Az at the time. This should not be. I should have more recent pictures of him but I have not seen him since. In fact..I have not even heard from him in a few  years. Now that makes me very sad to not even know how he is. I cannot even write more cuz it makes me cry.  Sigh........
