Bathroom painted

Painting all done. The painter got both the primer and finished coats of paint on. The color is a cream but sometimes the pics show it as yellow or gold. Just the camera and light..it is really creamy.
The next step is to finish tiling the shower and over the vanity and grouting. Floor is laid and waiting for grout. But they also need to tile the shower ledge.

Bathroom is a small standard one..5 x 8. It should feel bigger with no tub and walk in shower. The shower doors will be measured for today. It will take a couple weeks before they come and are installed. In the meantime we will use a spring tension rod and shower curtain.

Bathroom continues

No tile work today and don't know why. The guys were gonna but I guess the painter needed more mudding time. He did get sanding done and another coat of mud. He will be back on Sunday to get it final sanded and primer on. It didn't dry enough for him to do more today. No pics today cuz they wont show much.

Bathroom tiling continues

There is only the lower part of the shower to tile. They did get the floor done and the upper part of the walls.

They also lowerd the shower threshold by a couple inches. Making a smaller step-over to get into the shower. The floor shower system was default 5" and i was fitted out to be 3" including tile.

I was a bit wrong on when they would tile above the sink. They hope to do it tomorrow before the vanity and sink is installed. They better have good measurements..LOL.

Bathroom tile progressing

The drywall is now taped and sanding will be tomorrow, The shower niche is drying and back shower wall partly done They wanted to have had more done but the niche too too long. Today the plan is most of the tiling done. Tiling above the sink will have to wait till the cabinet and the sink is installed. though.

Naked studs

WOW...and so it begins. Here are the first pics of the bathroom. . Looks so small to me without things in it. It took two men to get the pieces of tub out too. It is cast iron and very heavy. I was surprised it could be broken though and with such noise. It is now gutted and the electrician comes tomorrow.

Life sometimes just smacks you

Sometimes life just smacks you  in the face when you are not looking. You can try to get along with everyone and be agreeable and then...life hits you. So unfair at times but it happens. I hate being an innocent bystander. A lesson here?

Naw...I just found this funny.

Geography lesson

I feel like such a dunce. While in a recent drama "theory" class, the teacher was reviewing the history of drama and it's beginnings. And she was talking about different countries and their styles of drama. She talked of African drama and I immediately thought of Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Nigeria and the Congo. And then I asked about Egyptian drama and I was looked at funny and was told it was African drama. Yeow...my mind never connects Egypt with being African. The teacher laughed and said that not everything African is Congo-like. I guess Egyptian things are bigger than life to me...and oh so interesting that I just don't lump it in with being African. I actually had to pull up  a map to see where it was. I guess I need to review geography a bit more huh? Not my best subject in school anyway. I just figured out the whole Great Britain /UK thing, thanks to a great interesting article on the web. But don't ask me to explain it.

All but one

I started to bed down the yard for winter. I got the first of the beds in the front done. They look sooo naked. But I did leave one plant in a pot. The popcorn plant. I still smells so good. It has been a werid year for plants and it grew really tall but had no flowers. Lat year one grew multiple flowers on side stems but this year..nope...just grew tall. But the leaves smells exactly like buttered popcorn when crushed. MMMMM.

Here is a before and after photo.
BEFORE the cleaning.....

AFTER.....
SIGH.....and summer end......

Back Garden Giants

I thought the castor beans in the front of the house were huge until I happen to really look at the back forty. This is a garden where nothing...literally nothing, is done to grow things. We pile leaves about 4 foot high every fall and in the spring...when the leaves are packed down to about 2 feet high, we spread them apart and put in plants. Mostly my neighbor and I put in tomatoes.  We dont weed  and only water maybe twice if it is 3 weeks or more without rain. The canna you see are volunteers. Right down the middle we pile the year end weeds and tomato plants and viney squashes if we planted them. We don't get much yield from viny stuff cuz too many garden critters chew on the squash or melons. But the tomatoes grow like gangbusters. I also throw left over canna on the pile that I dont want to keep along with the other stuff I chop down in the fall. I guess the warmth of the decomposing stuff keeps the canna from dying out. They usually dont winter over in the ground.

This year I planted some castor beans and some voo doo plants. The voo doo didnt do well. I will take pics of them later. But OH MY...the castor beans must be well over 10 feet tall. I gauge that cuz I am 5 foot and they seem about twice that or more in the picture. Don't' forget to click on the pics to see full size.  Maybe keeping the bottom leaves pulled off forced them taller.

Tomatoes and dead grass

We cannot keep up with grass watering. Way too expensive to water the whole 3/4 acre. But the tomatoes are doing fantastic. They get the water.

The jungle still grows

My gardens are loving all this heat. But then..I have a green thumb and it seems everythings grows for me.

Growing like weeds

IN spite of our heat wave, I have been able to keep things watered and they are looking pretty good. Not the jungles I will have in a month..but getting there.

Now very big yet but the castor beans will take over by Sept.

I love this combination of daisies and yellow Asian lilies growing around each other.

Did you know I love yellow flowers?

Fever few, red yarrow and lambs ear are a nice contrast.

Hair-The Donald's

Once again my curiosity ran wild. I again wondered about Donald Trump's hair. So I did some web searches. I found this pic and wondered if it is the true hair.

Personally, I think it is faked. Why? Cuz I really think someone with his billions would have hair transplants done and the best money could buy.
I also came across this link showing him thru the years.

To me this show a guy that either wanted to be unique with his hair style, or he had a very smart mind that would let him cover up hair loss as he aged. Maybe he didn't know then he would be rich enough to buy hair...good hair. I also came up with this diagram on how he combs his hair.
Oh so much speculation on his hair. And surprisingly that he might run for President,,,his hair is again  more in focus than his campaign. Seems people are more interested in that than his platform.

Personally, I don't think he has the experience for it. In my opinion he lacks knowledge in areas of military and foreign policy. But maybe he has it but never shows it. He didn't get to where he is today by being stupid...that is for sure.

And I found this link with video that shows once and for all..he DOES HAVE his own hair with the hairline to prove it. Proof to me anyway.

It is only a year or so old too.

And finally....my opinion on how to fix the US.

Seems to me that The Donald, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Steven Hawking plus a few other deep thinker should be able to figure out how to get us out of debt and make every American better off and with health insurance. They show they have the brains to make money and to find the people to do what they need done.

Better yet...why is the President now asking for their advice?
Oh yea...running our country is complicated and more than I probably know, but...we do have the manpower...or I should say ...brain power...we just don't use it.
